Six Relationships

The Six Relationships organize different subjects within one relational system. Traditional imagery associates Parents with support and documents, Siblings with peers, Offspring with production, Wealth with usable resources, and Officer/Ghost with constraint, office or concern. The names are not limited to literal family members: selecting Parents for documents is subject-based role selection.

Use the palace element as the reference: what generates it is Parents, its own element Siblings, what it generates Offspring, what it controls Wealth, and what controls it Officer/Ghost. Five line labels appear under the collective name Six Relationships. Bazi Ten Gods instead use the Day Stem and polarity.

In Qian’s metal palace, earth is Parents, metal Siblings, water Offspring, wood Wealth and fire Officer/Ghost. Choose the focus from the question: documents commonly use Parents and goods or money Wealth. Assign relationships first, then select the focus; the querent’s Day Master is not the palace reference.

In Qian’s metal palace, Zi water is Offspring, Yin wood Wealth, Wu fire Officer/Ghost, Shen metal Siblings and Chen/Xu earth Parents. For money, focus on Wood Wealth, then trace Water support and Metal control. For documents, shift the focus to Earth Parents and reassess the roles accordingly.

These are not five fixed good/bad categories. Officer/Ghost can be the office sought in a work question or a constraint in another subject. Establish the question and chosen role before following the element relationships.
